The Serbian Electoral Committee (RIK) invited citizens today to confirm if they have been included in the voters list, so that they may use their right to vote in January 21 parliamentary elections.
A statement by the RIK reads that in accordance with the Constitution and the Law on electing parliament members, every citizen residing in Serbia who is 18 years of age and competent has the right to elect a member or to be elected.
Every voter has the right to view the voters list and has the right to demand corrections, such as registration, deletion, amendments and additions to the voters list.
The right to view voters list can be realised by citizens in their own municipality or through the internet on the web page of the RIK
www.rik.parlament.sr.gov.yu, where the category “documents” contains the voters list for Serbia and a separate one for Belgrade.
By submitting the unique personal identity number, citizens can gain information on whether they have been included in the voters list and at which polling station they may cast their vote, reads the statement.
