Representatives of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Norwegian government handed over a donation of equipment worth €326,000 to the Serbian Ministry of Interior's (MUP) Directorate for Border Police for the fight against human trafficking, extortion, kidnappings and terrorism. The donation also includes refurbishing of the Secondary School of Internal Affairs in Zemun.
Head of the OSCE mission to Serbia-Montenegro Maurizio Massari thanked MUP representatives for cooperation and voiced hope that the donation will help Serbian police combat crime. He added that curbing crime, strengthening democratic institutions in Serbia and its accession to the EU are the main goals of the OSCE.
Norwegian Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Hans Ola Urstad said he is pleased that his country participates in donation projects and thanked the MUP and the OSCE for cooperation.
Serbian Assistant Minister of Interior and head of the Public Security Service Miroslav Milosevic also expressed gratitude for cooperation, adding that the donation will be of great help in the fight against terrorism and human trafficking.
