The Serbian Electoral Commission (RIK) announced last night the final results of the referendum on the new Constitution according to which 54.91% of the electorate or 3,645,517 voters voted at the referendum. Of that number 53.04% of the electorate or 3,521,724 voters cast their ballots in favour of the referendum.
RIK stated that the referendum was held in line with the Law on the referendum and the national initiative and declared the result of the referendum valid.
The report on the result will be forwarded to Serbian parliament so that a session can be scheduled at which the new Constitution will be declared.
