The Cabinet of Serbian parliament Speaker Predrag Markovic stated today that the international and local supervision of the referendum process in Serbia is being carried out by a total of 1,403 observers - 1,335 from Serbia and 68 foreign.
The statement reads that 68 foreign observers will especially supervise the safety of ballot boxes in the night between October 28 and 29, as well as the voting of prisons inmates.
The Serbian Electoral Commission has permitted 1,335 observers from the Centre for Free Elections and Democracy (CeSID) to monitor the referendum, the statement reads and adds that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has 12 observers and 14 interpreters, the Observing Mission of the European Union in Belgrade 35 observers and 18 interpreters, and the State Duma of the Russian Federation a total of seven observers from the biggest caucuses.
