Annual inflation below projected rate

The Ministry of Finance has announced that the October inflation is -0.4%, the lowest inflation recorded in the past 20 years.
Restrictive measures of the National Bank of Serbia’s (NBS) monetary policy and firm budgetary policy of the Ministry of Finance influenced the decrease of inflation in 2006, which after first ten months totals 5.8%.
The Ministry expects that inflation in 2006 will be between 7% and 7.5%, which is lower than the projected 9.3%, the statement adds.
