Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić spoke today in Helsinki with President of Finland Alexander Stubbs about strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and current geopolitical and economic issues.
In an open and constructive conversation, the interlocutors exchanged views on the most important issues of contemporary international relations, security and economic challenges facing Europe and the world, as well as on the possibilities for further improving bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Finland in areas of common interest.
Speaking about the importance of regular meetings at the high and highest levels, Đurić conveyed the greetings of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and an invitation for Stubbs to visit Serbia this year.
The Minister emphasised Serbia’s firm commitment to the stability of the region and its dedication to dialogue and good neighbourly relations, as prerequisites for the development and prosperity of the entire Western Balkans.
We are grateful for the support for the EU vision that also includes Serbia, said the head of Serbian diplomacy, who at the same time informed his interlocutor about the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the latest repressive measures of Priština against the Serb population.
The two officials agreed that the economy is the field with the most significant potential for strengthening ties between the two countries, and that there is room for this through cooperation in the areas of innovation, digitalisation and new technologies.
