Sweden will continue to support reforms in Serbia

Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Zoran Loncar said that he was strongly assured during his one-day visit to Sweden that Swedish institutions will continue to support reforms in Serbia, read a statement by the Serbia-Montenegrin Embassy in Stockholm.

In the talks with representatives of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), it was confirmed that Sweden will not only continue, but increase concrete forms of assistance and support to reforms in Serbia.
Sweden, through SIDA agency, is financing a large number of development projects, including a three-year project for improving the functioning of Serbia's state administration and local self-government.
Loncar met with Head of the Sweden Parliamentary Ombudsman office Mats Melin, and told him that one of the Serbian government's priorities is to introduce the institute of parliamentary ombudsman as soon as possible, and that the Scandinavian model is the most suitable one.
