During the day, participants in the meeting were presented with countries’ plans for Expo 2027 by ministers, ambassadors and directors of national institutions responsible for economy, trade, innovation, tourism, culture and sports from 138 countries, as well as representatives of numerous international organisations, development agencies and the United Nations.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, Commissioner for Expo 2027 and Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Jagoda Lazarević, Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes and Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade Danilo Jerinić told the participants that Expo 2027 represents a unique opportunity for Belgrade and Serbia to become a global meeting point for ideas, cultures and innovations.
Lazarević today signed contracts on participation in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade with Commissioners for Expo 2027 Belgrade from 24 countries: Federal Republic of Germany, People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Hellenic Republic, Kingdom of Lesotho, Republic of Uganda, Republic of Benin, Burkina Faso, State of Eritrea, Republic of Maldives, Republic of Senegal, Swiss Confederation, Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, Kingdom of Eswatini, Togolese Republic, Republic of Liberia, Principality of Monaco, Republic of Tunisia, Republic of Zimbabwe, Saint Lucia, Arab Republic of Egypt, Republic of South Sudan, Republic of the Gambia, Antigua and Barbuda and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
During the first day of the 2nd International Participants Meeting for Expo 2027, nine mini-conferences were organised for the media, at which the participating countries presented their themes and campaigns for participation in the specialised exhibition next year.
