According to current data, 31 fires are currently active in open areas in Serbia.
The most complex situation is at Deliblato Sands near Kovin, where the fire has spread to more than 2,000 hectares, then on Mount Stolovi near Kraljevo, in Breznica in the territory of the municipality of Bujanovac and near Gornji Brestovac in the municipality of Bojnik.
In the last seven days alone, approximately 900 fires have been recorded in open areas, which were put under control and extinguished through rapid interventions and the engagement of firefighters and rescuers.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić, who is also Commander of the Team, stressed that members of the services, institutions and organisations engaged in extinguishing fires are making maximum efforts to protect human lives, property and the environment.
The most important thing is that there are no human casualties and that residential buildings are protected, he said, adding that all forces remain engaged until the situation is fully stabilised.
The low water level of the Danube continues to make river traffic difficult, with reduced vessel carrying capacity and navigation taking place with limited capacity.
The Government emphasised that the electricity supply is stable, while the state of the power system is continuously monitored.
