The Strategy envisages the development of a special irrigation and drainage programme, as well as incentives for integrated crop and livestock production systems.
Changes are planned in the organisation of producers, along with the modernisation of markets, the appointment of a food ombudsman and the application of market standards for fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs and poultry meat.
One of the priorities will also be to link agriculture with science and advisory services, while a special measure concerns young people and provides scholarships for children of agricultural producers studying agronomy, veterinary medicine and other related sciences.
At the session, a conclusion was adopted giving approval for the implementation of a range of activities in the areas of women’s political and economic empowerment, strengthening women’s leadership and entrepreneurship, preventing and combating violence against women and improving institutional support for victims of violence.
These activities include the political empowerment campaign for women, “Women Leaders – Nothing About Us Without Us”, the economic empowerment campaign “Women Driving Serbia”, the RISE 2026 conference and the observance of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, as well as the Third National Conference marking 25 November – International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the launch of the global campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence”.
The planned activities also include training and campaigns aimed at strengthening the capacities of social welfare centres.
