Petković informed his interlocutor that unidentified individuals in civilian clothing, apparently acting on the orders of Albin Kurti, entered the building of the Rectorate of the University in Kosovska Mitrovica today, with an unacceptable demand that the Faculty of Technical Sciences vacate its premises in Kosovska Mitrovica within 30 days or begin paying an unfounded rent.
In this way, Priština is directly seeking an unacceptable confrontation with the Serbian University in Kosovska Mitrovica, clearly increasing pressure on Serbian educational institutions ahead of the implementation of the so-called measures, which represent the latest unilateral and illegal actions, said the Director of the Office.
He called for an urgent response from the international community and the European Union on this and other pressing issues of existential importance for the Serb population in Kosovo and Metohija.
The Director of the Office emphasised that Belgrade and Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija expect the European Union and all other relevant actors to take such actions and announcements by Priština with the utmost seriousness, as they lead to the direct ethnic cleansing of our people from these areas.
Petković also conveyed to Giaufret the deep concern of the Serb population in Kosovo and Metohija regarding the implementation of the so-called Priština measures, noting that they affect almost 10,000 Serbs living in the province, whose rights to work, education, healthcare, family life, freedom of movement, and other fundamental rights are endangered.
