Srdjan Djuric
It is questionable whether Ahtisaari will, in line with his mandate, organise serious talks on the province's future status at all, or he has simply decided to side with ethnic Albanian separatists, Djuric said.
According to Djuric, if Ahtisaari is in a big hurry and cannot thoroughly dedicate to the preparation of talks, he has to be aware that our lives and destiny are at stake, which is incomparably much more important than someone's haste and nervousness. For that reason, it would be much fairer if Ahtisaari stepped down than to side with the separatists before the eyes of the entire world.
Djuric underlined that Serbia will in any case refuse any solution that imposes the change of its borders and that it is of utmost importance that Russia defends the norms of international law in a clear and principled way.
