During a visit to the Zemun Municipal Administration and a postal company Pošta Srbije service point, where she spoke with employees and citizens about the application process, Sofronijević underlined that there is no need to rush, given that applications may be submitted over a period of 60 days, followed by an additional 30 days for appeals.
Every citizen will be able to report their property without pressure or crowds, she emphasised, noting that the first application arrived in the early morning hours and that the system processed a large number of requests.
The Minister recalled that, when submitting applications, citizens need to provide only a minimum of documentation, while the state carries out the rest of the procedure.
According to her, the process is simple, clear and accessible to everyone – once citizens submit their documents, the state will notify them when they become registered owners of their property.
Sofronijević singled out ensuring the security of one’s home and family through properly regulated registration of ownership rights, as well as maintaining zero tolerance for new illegal construction, as the key goals of the law.
