The prices of goods went down by 0.2%, while prices of services increased 0.2%, the statement said and added that compared to December 2005 retail prices in July 2006 rose by 5.6%.
The average cost of living in July compared to June decreased by 0.9%, whereas it increased 5% against December 2005. The discrepancy between the increase in the index of retail prices and the cost of living index was due to different impacts of growth in prices for individual items on the overall index.
Prices of agricultural products fell by 18%. The prices of vegetables and fruit are customary for this season, whereas the price of eggs went down slightly and the price of fish went up slightly.
The costs of industrial foodstuffs went up by 0.9% on average, in which sector an insignificant variation of prices was observed.
The prices of beverages in July went up by 0.1%.
Tobacco prices increased 4.7% on average against the month before.
The prices of non-food industrial products increased by 0.5% on average. This was mostly due to increased prices of oil products, whereas prices of other products did not see a significant increase.
The prices of services increased by 0.2% on average.
