President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić stated today that cooperation with Republika Srpska is important for Serbia in all areas, saying that the people of Republika Srpska should know that they can always count on Serbia's support.
At a session of the Council for Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Republika Srpska in an expanded composition, which is being held at the Palace of Serbia, Vučić emphasised that Serbia and Republika Srpska work together, always respecting all others.
He pointed out that this council is more than a formal body, because it is a symbol of a common path, strong trust and a constant commitment to constantly developing and strengthening the special and parallel ties between Serbia and Republika Srpska.
According to him, the gathering in this format confirms that cooperation between Serbia and Republika Srpska is a lasting value and one of the pillars of the overall policy of peace and stability in the region.
Serbia and Republika Srpska are developing comprehensive cooperation, the President emphasised, recalling that last year, the First All-Serbian Assembly "One People, One Assembly - Serbia and Republika Srpska" was successfully held in Belgrade by joint efforts.
According to him, the Declaration on the Protection of National and Political Rights and the Common Future of the Serbian People, which was adopted on 8 June 2024, is the foundation on which Serbia and Republika Srpska will build a common future.
During the session, Vučić requested information on the progress of work on the Rača-Bijeljina highway, as well as on the preparations for construction of the Trebinje airport, as well as whether anything can be done in the future regarding the gas interconnector between Serbia, Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The session is also being attended by Serbian Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, with members of the Cabinet, Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia Ana Brnabić, Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić, Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić with ministers, Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović and others.
