In a statement to reporters, Petković said that Priština is not interested in the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities and that Priština’s negotiator Besnik Bislimi did not want to answer the question of whether he accepts the European draft of the Community of Serb Municipalities statute during the meeting.
If there is no Community, the very survival of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija is at stake. For us, this has already become a humanitarian issue, because the Serbian people can no longer endure the terror they are subjected to on a daily basis by Kurti’s police and regime, which I also conveyed to Bislimi, the Director of the Office emphasised.
He stressed that in the trilateral talks with the European Union Special Representative for the Belgrade-Priština Dialogue Peter Sørensen, he insisted on the Community of Serb Municipalities and on starting concrete talks to form a statute.
Also, as he conveyed, at the meetings he spoke about the suffering of the Serbian people, as well as about attacks on Serbian churches, temples, graves, and everything that the Serb List is going through in terms of numerous obstructions regarding the electoral process was also discussed.
Petković said that the issue of missing persons was also discussed today, with the Serbian delegation clearly confirming its full commitment to resolving this issue, primarily for the benefit of families who have been waiting for the full truth about the suffering of their loved ones for more than two decades.
