At today’s session, the Serbian government adopted the Decision on a regular increase in minimum wage to amount to RSD 371 per working hour (a rise of 10.1%), which will apply as of 1 January 2026.
With this increase, the minimum wage will amount to RSD 64,554 or €551 per month as of 1 January of next year.
This represents an increase from €404 in 2024 to €551. The minimum wage is determined per working hour, excluding taxes and contributions, for the calendar year, no later than 15 September of the current year, and applies as of 1 January of the following year.
Government members also adopted the Bill on the Placing on the Market of Timber and Timber Products, which prohibits the placing on the market of illegally harvested timber, as well as timber products obtained from such timber.
With these legal provisions, domestic legislation is being harmonised with European legislation in the field of environment and climate change, and these provisions are also part of the European Union’s policy to combat illegal logging and related trade.
