The Serbian government adopted today the Science, Technological Development and Innovation Strategy of the Republic of Serbia for the period from 2026 to 2030, which establishes the priorities of scientific and technological development, as well as measures for further improvement of the scientific and technological research and innovation system.

Science, tourism development strategies adopted

The goals are to further strengthen Serbia's scientific and technological potential, improve research infrastructure and international cooperation, encourage the connection of science and industry, and contribute to the development of innovation and the transfer of knowledge and technologies.
Special attention will be paid to the development of young researchers and improving the conditions for scientific and research work, as well as creating conditions for greater participation of Serbia in international and European programmes and projects.
The Tourism Development Strategy for the period from 2026 to 2030 was also adopted at the session, which sets out the directions for the further development of competitive, sustainable and digitally enhanced tourism.
The strategy envisages the number of tourist arrivals to reach between 5.6 and 6.4 million by 2030, and the number of overnight stays between 16.1 and 18.5 million, with the expected strong contribution to be made by the holding of Specialised Expo 2027.
The strategy will support the development of priority tourist destinations and products, the improvement of infrastructure, the protection of natural and cultural heritage, as well as the further development of health, rural, mountain, cultural and eco-tourism.
At today's session, Government members adopted several documents that constitute the basis for concluding memorandums, agreements and programmes on cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the areas of infrastructure, economy, free trade, customs issues, digital technology, pharmacy and biotechnology, tourism and culture.
The conclusion of these agreements will create conditions for further improvement of bilateral relations and intensification of institutional ties between Serbia and Uzbekistan.
