Priština seriously threatening peace, stability in Kosovo and Metohija

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petković met in Belgrade today with EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Priština Dialogue Peter Sørensen, expressing concern over a series of escalating moves taken by Priština, particularly in recent weeks in northern Kosovo and Metohija, which are seriously threatening peace and stability.

Petković emphasised that Priština, disregarding dialogue and negotiations in Brussels, is taking unilateral and violent moves that are creating impossible conditions for the life of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, while the European Union and Brussels have not issued a clear response to these uncoordinated actions.

Petković pointed out that Kurti is systematically carrying out institutional and physical terror against the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, attempting to alter the reality on the ground while consciously avoiding compliance with agreements reached and signed to date.

All of this would not have occurred if today, 12 years after the signing of the first Brussels agreement on the normalisation of relations, we had the Community of Serb Municipalities formed, he said, noting that the implementation of the agreement was also guaranteed by the European Union, which is why it bears part of the responsibility for the situation on the ground.
