Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Professor Dragan Glamočić, PhD, today presented contracts to beneficiaries of the 3rd call under the Serbia Competitive Agriculture Project, implemented in cooperation with the World Bank.
This public call allocated RSD 750 million in grants, which, combined with loans and beneficiaries’ own contributions, constitutes an investment cycle worth approximately €13 million.
Contracts were awarded to 43 beneficiaries from 15 districts of Serbia, with as many as 77% going to women and 69% to young people under the age of 40.
These investments have already created around 70 new jobs.
The largest share of investment, 66%, is directed to the fruit and vegetable sector, while projects in grain processing, milk and bee products have also been supported.
More than 31% of the projects are being implemented in municipalities with challenging agricultural conditions and in underdeveloped areas.
