Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda E.P. Chet Greene to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
Đurić emphasised that his participation in the 55th Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States, held this year in Antigua and Barbuda, reflects the importance that Serbia attaches to regional organisations of Latin America and the Caribbean, noting that Serbia is very open to all suggestions on how to enhance contacts with member states, both bilaterally and within the framework of such organisations.
The head of Serbian diplomacy underlined that Belgrade is committed to intensifying overall political dialogue with Antigua and Barbuda, as well as contacts between the two ministries of foreign affairs, with the aim of establishing regular political consultations.
He expressed special gratitude to Antigua and Barbuda for its decision to withdraw recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, as well as for its support in international organisations on matters of importance to the Republic of Serbia.
At the same time, Đurić conveyed appreciation for the official confirmation of Antigua and Barbuda’s participation in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade.
