Winners of the competition for the best wines and brandies, featuring producers from the region and around the world, were announced today in Belgrade as part of the "Wine Vision by Open Balkan" fair.
800 wine samples were submitted to this year's competition, and the best wines were chosen by an international expert jury.
The award for the best international white wine went to the Zvonko Bogdan winery, the award for the best international red wine went to the Aleksić winery, while the award for the best autochthonous red wine went to the Jović winery.
In the category of sweet wines, the Bikicki winery won the award.
The award for the Best in Show wine for Serbia went to the Đurđevića Legat winery, while the award for the best wine in the selection for Albania went to the Kantina Fani winery.
A competition for the best brandies was also held as part of the fair, attracting 60 producers who submitted 130 samples.
The Kamnik Distillery won the award in the "Lozovača" category, while the Zarić Distillery was awarded for the best "Travarica".
The Hubert Distillery won the award in the "Dunja" category, and the Emperus Distillery won in the "Šljivovica" category.
The “Wine Vision by Open Balkan” fair started in Belgrade yesterday and lasts until 12 October.
During the three-day event under the domes of the Belgrade Fair, 550 exhibitors from more than 30 countries have presented their best wines and brandies.
Buyers and sellers from 45 countries have participated in the fair, and more than 2,000 B2B business meetings have been scheduled.
