The Ministry has allocated a total of RSD 35 million for this purpose.
This marks the first time the Ministry has directly supported partners from Serbia using national budget funds to facilitate their participation in European Territorial Cooperation projects.
Starović noted that the Ministry received 71 applications in response to the public call, demonstrating that there is a large number of institutions, local self-governments, public bodies, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders in Serbia that recognise the importance of European territorial cooperation.
The supported projects are being implemented within the framework of eight European Territorial Cooperation programmes, including cross-border cooperation programmes between Serbia and Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and North Macedonia, as well as transnational and interregional programmes.
The projects cover various areas of importance to citizens and local communities – healthcare and social services, environmental protection, resilience to climate change and natural hazards, tourism and culture, digital transformation, innovation, energy transition, sustainable development, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
