Serbian parliament and UNDP sign agreement on fighting poverty

Serbian parliament Speaker Predrag Markovic and UNDP Resident Representative in Serbia Lance Clark today signed the Agreement on cooperation in fighting poverty.

The Agreement envisages participation of five parliamentary committees in the project called "Including civil society in the creation of policies that contribute to the reduction of poverty", which is being financed by the European Union through the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR).
Head of Operations at the EAR Belgrade office Christos Gofas said following the signing ceremony that the aim of this programme is to strengthen parliamentary committees for education, labour, veterans and social affairs, local self-government, gender equality and poverty reduction.
