Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic stated yesterday that the second meeting of the working group for Serbia's accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) held in Geneva was very constructive and that Serbia was particularly endorsed by the EU, USA, China, Japan, Norway and several other countries.

In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Parivodic said that the working group is to hold the third meeting in November, while the entire documentation, including the bid for services, must be prepared by September, so that a report could be drawn in time for the third meeting.
He said that the greatest obstacle for Serbia's accession to this organisation is its import regime that implies technical standards, phytosanitary control and control of food and agricultural products entering the country, as well as privatisation of public companies that should be concluded as soon as possible.
Parivodic said that Serbia's offer concerning industrial products has been labelled an excellent starting point and Serbia got complemented on it.
