Director of the New Belgrade medical centre Radmila Trmcic said that the project is financed by the EU and managed by the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) with the support of the Serbian Ministry of Health and consultancy firm EPOS.
She explained that the centre will consist of three wholes: a department where preventive medical checks will be carried out without previous appointments, a mobile unit with a terrain vehicle and an advice centre which can be contacted on 2095-346.
According to Trmcic, similar centres will start working in Serbia’s 21 medical centres.
EPOS representative Brian Potter pointed out that Serbia is facing big problems with preventive health care, which is cause of many premature deaths.
The opening of this centre is part of the Ministry of Health's project called "Improvement of Preventive Health Services in Serbia".
