In a presentation of the training programme for judges on EU law basics and implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA), Miscevic said that regular implementation of legal acts and regulations of the Union ends in judicial organs that are capable of defining that legal implementation.
She said that every new EU member state has to respect acquis communautaire, that is, the EU law, but it is necessary that judges in potential candidate countries for EU membership start their training on time.
Miscevic expressed hope that law schools in Serbia will set up a systemic way of education for acquis communautaire, its understanding and application as almost 85% of legal activities will be directed from Brussels once the country enters the Union.
According to Miscevic, a total of 100,000 pages of text of Serbian laws must be harmonised with EU legal regulations.
