Opening the Second national conference on mediation, Bjelica said that the Centre will organise professional seminars and gatherings and publish special editions that will promote a method of peaceful settlement of disputes with the help of a third, neutral party - the mediator.
He said that the founders of the Centre, headquartered in Belgrade, are the Ministry of Justice, the Belgrade Centre for the Rights of the Child, the Belgrade Bar Association, and the National Bank of Serbia. Financial and logistic support have been offered by the International Financial Organisation, which is part of the World Bank, the Canadian International Development Agency, and the Dutch government.
