Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Zoran Loncar handed over 2.8 million dinars of assistance to officials in the Temerin municipality to equip the municipal service centre.
Loncar said that the government will continue to invest in all municipalities regardless of who is in power at local level.
Speaking on the mutual life of Serbs and Hungarians and the use of languages of ethnic minorities in Serbia, Loncar said that Serbia’s legislation regulating this field is in line with international standards but noted that this field could be regulated in an even better way since the Law on official use of language dates back from 15 years ago.
Decentralisation of power is Serbia’s future, Loncar said noting that the current Constitution of Serbia is a great obstacle to that.
He expressed the expectation that following yesterday’s talks on the new constitution, conditions will be made for the Serbian parliament’s committee for constitutional affairs to complete its work on the new constitution.
