By sectors, production and distribution of electric energy, gas and water in April 2006 rose by 3.5% against April 2005, while the processing industry saw a growth of 1% and ore and stone mining 0.6%.
Compared to April 2005, this April the production of non-durable consumer goods rose by 3.1%, intermediate products excluding energy went up by 2.6%, energy went up by 2.2%, durable consumer goods by 1.3%, while capital goods fell by 11.9%.
Industrial production increased in April 2006 against April 2005 in 13 areas making up 64% of total industrial production, but there was also a decline in 16 areas which accounts for 36% of total industrial production.
Growth in April 2006 in comparison with April 2005 was mostly influenced by the production of elementary metals, electricity, furniture, beverages, pre-prepared cattle food and metallic products, except machines.
The deseasonalised industrial output index for this April against the 2005 average shows a 1% overall rise in industrial growth and a growth of 3% in the processing industry.
The deseasonalised industrial output index for April 2006 against March shows a fall of 0.6% for overall industrial growth and a rise of 0.2% in the processing industry.
The small and medium-sized enterprise sector production index is not included in regular statistic surveys and is based on a sample survey of 313 SMEs from the processing industry, and in April this year the required data was submitted by 98 companies.
Total industrial production this April against last year’s average monthly output, including SME output figures, fell by 1.4% (excluding these figures it stands at 2.4%) and 0.1% in the processing industry (excluding these figures it is 1.4%).
