At a lecture regarding the possibilities of exporting animal food products made in Serbia to the European market, Krnjajic pointed out that a draft action plan is underway and the list of potential exporters will be announced by September. The list will be updated daily, said Krnjajic at the 73rd international agriculture fair in Novi Sad.
At the moment, only the Stoko Impeks slaughterhouse from Knjazevac is fully equipped to export meat to the EU. However, Jagodina's Juhor, as well as Big Bull from Bacinci and Kolbis from Novi Sad have good prospects of obtaining the export certificate, specified Krnjajic.
Potential exporters must fulfil certain conditions, such as the appropriate health level, new security principles, better control and transparency of the entire production process and the HACCP quality system, he said.
He explained that the manufacturer will be obliged to provide conditions for manufacturing food safe for health. According to Krnjajic, the veterinary inspection will supervise production, the sanitary inspection will control sale while internal control will have to be done by the manufacturer.
The EU currently imports 49.4% of animal goods for consumption, which is a big export chance for Serbia, Krnjajic said.
