The Serbian Ministry of International Economic Relations said that head of EAR’s Centre in Belgrade Daniel Giuglaris signed agreements with representatives of 19 institutions that won in the open competition for the Neighbourhood Programme between Serbia and Hungary.
The ceremony which took place in the Vojvodina Executive Council’s building was attended by State Secretary for International Economic Relations Vlatko Sekulovic, Assistant Minister of International Economic Relations Gordana Lazarevic, advisor to European Commission’s delegation to Serbia-Montenegro David Hudson and Vojvodina Executive Council President Bojan Pajtic.
The projects in this contest were submitted by municipalities, agencies, NGOs and educational institutions from Vojvodina and Belgrade in the areas of infrastructure, tourism, environmental protection and protection from floods, business and institutional cooperation.
The contest was made public on February 16 and there were 120 proposals that arrived in the contest, the Ministry said in a statement, noting that it gave all necessary support to those who were interested in these projects.
Since 2005, when the programme with Hungary was launched, another three programmes were carried out, namely programmes with Italy, Bulgaria and CADSES programme. The second contest for the programme with Bulgaria and the first one with Romania are currently underway, whereas the next programme with Hungary will be called in June this year.
