The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed his gratitude to Finland for supporting the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, as well as for supporting efforts to find solutions through dialogue in this difficult situation for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.
Relations between Serbia and Finland have enormous potential when it comes to economic cooperation, the minister said, and issued a public invitation to Finnish companies to participate in all preparatory activities related to Expo 2027 in Belgrade, the total value of which is around €17 billion.
The head of Serbian diplomacy said that he also presented to his colleagues from Finland the reform plan that Serbia is implementing with the aim of being fully ready for EU membership by 2027.
This remains our strategic priority and I believe that in the coming years we will show that not only in the economic sense, but also in the institutional and organizational sense, we can be a significant new link and make a significant contribution to European unity, said the minister.
Valtonen noted that Serbia and Finland have long-standing, not only diplomatic, but also economic and political relations, and that both countries strive to deepen them.
According to her, Finland firmly believes in the Western Balkans' place in the European Union and supports Serbia's European path.
The head of Finnish diplomacy, when it comes to the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, called on "both sides" to make progress in the normalisation of relations, adding that Finland will continue to support peace and stability in the region by participating in KFOR and other initiatives.
