Prime Minister Miloš Vučević stated today that from 1 September to the end of October, citizens will be able to buy 81 types of products in 2,500 food retail stores at prices that are more favourable than the discount prices.
At the presentation of this campaign in the Serbian government, in the presence of Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirović and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović, Vučević explained that in fact we are talking about 700 specific products, which will have the "Best Price" label - from personal hygiene products, household cleaning products to all kinds of food, fruit, vegetables, meat, meat and dairy products.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the price reduction will amount to an average of 26.82 percent compared to the best prices the products have had so far and that households will be able to save from RSD 8,000 to RSD 22,000.
The state proposed and asked the retail chains to participate in discounting 81 categories of products, and then the retail chains submitted to the government what the best price in each category of products would be, Vučević said.
He announced that Momirović and Mesarović will visit certain food retail stores very soon in order to see for themselves how the campaign works.
The Prime Minister announced that many other measures are being prepared to help the citizens and underlined that everything must be carefully prepared so as not to violate the principle of the market economy and not to deny anyone the right to do business.
