Serbia-Montenegrin Minister of Defence Zoran Stankovic and US Ambassador to Belgrade Michael Polt signed today an agreement on cooperation in the prevention of the spread of weapons of mass destruction and the improvement of defence and military relations.

The signing of the agreement in the Palace of Federation was also attended by Serbia-Montenegrin President Svetozar Marovic, Serbian President Boris Tadic, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus and Serbia-Montenegrin Deputy Minister of Defence Vukasin Maras.
The aim of the agreement is to improve bilateral military cooperation and the creation of friendly relations and mutual trust between Serbia-Montenegro and the US. It represents a starting position for further legal and political building of bilateral relations and strengthening of regional security.
