Following the second official round of negotiations, Labus said that the talks were highly successful, that the delegations went over the entire contract and cleared up all dilemmas except the ones regarding specific deadlines, which will be done at the last meeting.
"We are now near the completion and can accomplish everything even before the set deadline expires if of course there are political conditions for that", stressed Labus and explained that this refers to the cooperation with the Tribunal.
He also said that workers' rights were discussed, as well as the formation of institutions to oversee the implementation of the SAA.
According to Labus, the "transition period" will take five years and the remaining deadlines will be adjusted to it.
Director of the European Commission for Western Balkans Reinhard Priebe said that the second official round of talks was feasible due to the European Commission's assessment that Serbia-Montenegro did cooperate with the Tribunal.
Priebe pointed out that this cooperation will be assessed once again later this month, meaning that the Commission will not change its conditions for the continuation of talks.
He stressed that a lot has been achieved in the negotiating process and the collocutors have agreed on the majority of issues in the Agreement, which concern political dialogue and regional policy, movement of goods, services and capital, harmonisation of the judiciary, cooperation policy and financial cooperation.
