Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic spoke today with a delegation of the consortium led by South Korean company "HyundaiEngineering", which was chosen to build self-balanced solar power plants in Serbia with a total capacity of 1 GW, which is currently one of the largest renewable energy projects in Europe.

The construction of self-balanced solar power plants of 1 GW, as she pointed out, is an important project for the energy sector of Serbia and for achieving our strategic goals related to the decarbonisation of the energy sector.
The strategic partner is obliged to develop, build and hand over to the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) solar power plants with a total power of 1 GW, as well as a battery system for storing electricity of at least 200 MW, according to the turnkey system.
