Parivodic said after the traditional meeting with representatives of 40 donors that a strategic document on Serbia’s needs from 2007 to 2009 will be drafted with a view of realisation of donor support.
He said that it is necessary that all those in need of donations get this support. He also added that the Ministry is preparing instruments for access to support that the EU Commission allocated for Western Balkan countries.
Parivodic said that throughout 2005 the Ministry took part in coordination, registration and realisation of donor support in the amount of €652.29 million and noted that the sectors where the largest part of the support was realised included the budget, transportation, energy, private sector, local self-government and civil society, while the biggest donor is the EU while Germany is the first among donor countries.
According to Parivodic, the support arrived in the form of soft loans amounting to €354 million as well as grants totaling €297 million.
Parivodic recalled that Serbia received €166 million in international support in 2000, €836 million in 2001, €776 million in 2002, €645 million in 2003, €427 million in 2004 and €652 million last year, while the size of support in 2006 is expected to remain on the last year’s level.
