By sectors, the processing industry in February 2006 rose by 13.6% against February 2005 and ore and stone mining by 11.3%, whereas production and distribution of electricity, gas and water fell by 0.5%.
Compared to February 2005, this February the production of intermediate products excluding energy went up by 20.5%, capital goods by 12%, non-durable consumer goods by 10%, durable consumer goods by 3.3% and energy by 2.6%.
Industrial production increased against February 2005 in 20 areas making up 72% of total industrial production, but there was also a decline in 9 areas which account for 28% of total industrial production.
Growth in February 2006 in comparison with February 2005 was mostly influenced by the production of elementary metals, tobacco, non-metallic minerals, chemicals and chemical products, motor vehicles and trailers and food products and beverages.
The deseasonalised industrial output index for this February against the 2005 average shows a 3% overall industrial growth and a growth of 3.2% in the processing industry.
The deseasonalised industrial output index for February 2006 against January shows a 2.1% overall industrial growth and a growth of 1.3% in the processing industry.
The small and medium-sized enterprise sector production index is not included in regular statistic surveys and is based on a sample survey of 335 SMEs, and in February this year the required data was submitted by 98 companies.
Total industrial production this February, including SME output figures, fell by 5.5% and 10% in the processing industry, against last year’s average monthly output.
