The Serbian government adopted today the Conclusion on the method of financing the treatment of persons suffering from rare diseases in 2024, for which a total of RSD 7,200,000,000 have been set aside in the budget.

The Serbian government adopted today the Conclusion on the method of financing the treatment of persons suffering from rare diseases in 2024, for which a total of RSD 7,200,000,000 have been set aside in the budget.
The funds are intended for those patients for whom the Serbian Expert Commission for Rare Diseases decides that treatment is necessary and a priority.
The government adopted the Regulation on conditions, method of awarding and use of incentive funds for the development and improvement of rural tourism, which, for the first time, grants RSD 150 million for this purpose.
Those eligible to receive funds are rural tourist households, farms and ethnic houses registered in the E-tourist information system, for the extension, reconstruction and additional equipment of existing hospitality facilities for accommodation.
The maximum amount of incentives per project is RSD 2.9 million, with the obligation of own participation in the amount of 10 percent of the total value of the investment.
The government also adopted the Regulation on the establishment of the Programme for the promotion of regional growth in the Republic of Serbia in 2024, which aims to strengthen regional institutional capacities, institutional infrastructure to encourage such growth and development, and strengthen capacities for strategic planning of development at the regional and local level. Funds in the total amount of RSD 315,000,000 have been provided for these purposes.
This document was adopted due to the need to establish continuity of systemic support in encouraging regional development throughout the territory of Serbia, integration, coordination and harmonisation of regulations, institutions and activities of the government and local self-government units in the planning and implementation of regional development policy, as well as regional development planning on based on development documents at all levels of government, which was successfully launched in 2023.
The government also adopted the Regulation on establishing the Programme of support to business infrastructure development in 2024 in order to improve the development potential of local self-government units through the creation of favourable conditions for attracting investments, to improve the economic environment and create new jobs, which should lead to the reduction of differences in the economic potential of cities and municipalities. The Serbian government has set aside RSD 746,000,000 for the implementation of this programme.
The amended Regulation on national sports awards and monetary awards, which increased the amounts for the medals won, was also adopted at the session.
