Members of the Government adopted a Conclusion instructing the public utility company Elektrodistribucija Srbije due to natural disasters caused by severe weather conditions in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, to urgently and without delay undertake all necessary measures and activities within its competence in order to eliminate and remediate malfunctions that have occurred in the electricity distribution network and system.
The company was instructed to give priority to repairing faults on facilities and power lines, to procure and replace utility poles at facilities of special importance, particularly those supplying a large number of users, to urgently procure all necessary machinery to ensure the unobstructed operation of the power grid, and to take other necessary measures.
The Conclusion also provides for the procurement of off-road and other vehicles to access hard-to-reach areas, the undertaking of all activities related to the maintenance of corridors around distribution networks, and the engagement of all available human and technical resources to ensure continuous and uninterrupted electricity supply.
The Government agreed that the Directorate for Commodity Reserves shall donate small household appliances and major household appliances free of charge to local self-government units which, as of 12 January 2026, had declared a state of emergency due to snowfall, in accordance with submitted damage assessment lists.
At the session, the Government adopted the Decree on the allocation of incentives in agriculture and rural development for 2026, which defines the volume of funds, types of incentives, and maximum amounts per type of incentive in this field.
Members of the Government also agreed that the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of North Macedonia conclude a Cooperation Programme for the period 2026–2030, aimed at further strengthening friendship and cooperation in the field of culture between the two traditionally friendly neighbouring countries.
The Government also adopted the Decree establishing the Official Statistics Plan for 2026, which ensures the systematic collection, processing and publication of statistical data necessary for monitoring and measuring the results of public policies, particularly in the economic field, as well as for monitoring the fulfilment of economic criteria and the capacity of the Republic of Serbia to assume obligations arising from membership in the European Union.
Members of the Government agreed that the MMA Association of Serbia submit a bid to host the international competition “IMMAF 2026 European Championship Belgrade” in Belgrade in 2026.
