While visiting Silovo near Gnjilane, Popovic said that apart from the insufficient safety level, the most formidable problem in Kosovo is the catastrophic economic situation. It is therefore necessary to create a basis for the revival of the economy in the region as soon as possible, he added.
According to Popovic, 12 experts from different areas will take part in the drafting of the strategy, which will put forward a proposal regarding the type of activities these companies should perform in future and the market they should turn to.
Representatives of the economic team visited the factories "IBG" in Partes, "Jugoterm" in Donja Budriga and "Niteks" in Crepana, that have not been working since 1999. They met with the management of these factories and discussed possibilities for their revival.
Popovic said that micro family and small businesses are the future of this region. The economic team's vice-president Milorad Todorovic said that there are many young people there who want to work to support themselves and not live on humanitarian aid.
