The average loan was €730,000, the payment period approximately 90 months and the nominal interest rate 4.9% per year. Thanks to the realisation of these loans, conditions have been created for granting further loans worth €10 million, adds the statement.
In 2005, the Italian government granted a €33.2 million credit line to Serbia for the development of SMEs.
NBS stated it expects the second loan tranche to be soon available to SMEs, who are very interested in the loan, which is why it could be used up by the end of May this year.
Italian Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Alessandro Merola said that after the realisation of the second tranche, it will be possible to begin talks on a new loan for the development of SMEs in Serbia.
