Serbia is facing most complex situation in last 24 years

President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today that Serbia will try to preserve peace in Kosovo and Metohija and will not allow our people to be endangered in the province, that we will make our own decisions and that we will talk once others are ready for talks.

In his address to the public at the Presidency of Serbia, Vucic first reminded that our country has been trying to preserve peace and stability for years and make economic progress, but no matter how hard we tried to be a serious and responsible partner to the Western powers, they never treated us that way.

He pointed out that we have always been guilty, even if we had no guilt, and added that a hybrid war is being waged against Serbia and that Western countries allow the shooting and mistreatment of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.

No matter what we do, no matter how constructive we are or are trying to improve the position, find solutions, fundamentally it will never help us with anything. They will always tell us in the end that they cannot stop their actions, that it is the "sovereign state of Kosovo", and they will not answer why they are there, the President said.

He pointed out that since the beginning of the year, no Albanian has been killed, wounded, or seriously injured, and that at the same time there is no investigation into the shooting of Dragisa Galjko, and that in the meantime Rados Petrovic and Dusan Obrenovic were arrested and that they were beaten and are still in custody.

Vucic also pointed to other cases, recalling that the brothers Stefan and Milos Stojanovic were shot in Gotovusa by members of the KBS Azem Kurtaj, Miljan Delevic was shot on the Bistrica bridge on 23 January, and the so-called Kosovo police also shot Milan Jovanovic from Zvecan.

According to him, no one has ever been held accountable, nor is anyone under house arrest or any other detention in connection with these cases.

He confirmed that yesterday in Kosovo and Metohija there was a new case of mistreatment of Serbs by the so-called Kosovo police, who attacked children Dara and Kristijan, brother and sister, in the village of Zitkovac near Zvecan.

Vucic said that he spoke with the representatives of the Serbs who are focused on preserving the peace, but they don't know how to preserve it, but he expressed his belief that in the upcoming period they will take active moves.

St Vitus Day – Vidovdan is an important day in Serbian history. On Vidovdan, the Serbs, I am quite sure of that, will peacefully take steps on the way to their freedom, the President said.

Vucic repeated that we will try to preserve peace, but we warn all those who obviously do not care about peace and who want to expel Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija that this will not happen.

Speaking about the upcoming talks with the prime minister of Pristina's temporary institutions, he said that he believes that any talks are pointless until the arrested Serbs are released and the senseless measures that everyone in the world is silent about are withdrawn.

The President explained that the ban on the entry of trucks with Serbian goods into Kosovo and Metohija is a violation of CEFTA and all agreements and that it is pointless to discuss anything until the special police forces of the so-called Kosovo withdraw from the north of the province and the fake mayors from the municipalities which do not belong to them on any ground.

Vucic pointed out that he will decide whether to go to the meeting in Brussels, explaining that it will be a tactical decision, given that there is no dialogue with Albin Kurti, and that in that dialogue only our side is asked to make some concessions, but that there are no more concessions to be made.
