The Information Directorate of the Serbia-Montenegrin Council of Ministers stated today that two meetings of the Enhanced Permanent Dialogue will be held before that, in line with the two-track lane principle, on February 20 in Podgorica and February 21 in Belgrade.
The statement specified that these meetings will examine the progress made in the reform of the internal market and competition, transport, energy, IT society and the media.
On February 22, the first day of the second round of the negotiations, the negotiating teams of Serbia and Montenegro will hold a joint meeting to discuss issues related to jurisdiction of the state union and member countries. The topics to be discussed are free circulation of services, labour, capital and goods, as well as harmonisation of legislation and cooperation policy.
As for the legislation harmonisation, a special item of the negotiations in the field of common jurisdiction of the state union and the member states will deal with the protection of intellectual property, standardisation, metrology, accreditation and assessment of harmonisation.
On February 23, the second day of the negotiations, separate meetings will be held with representatives of the member states on issues such as concession granting for industrial, agricultural and fish products. On the same day, a joint closing meeting of the Serbia-Montenegrin negotiating team and the EU will be held.
Head of the Serbian negotiating team is Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus, and his Montenegrin counterpart is Minister of International Economic Relations and European Integration Gordana Djurovic.
On behalf of the EU, the negotiations will be conduced by a team of the Western Balkan Directorate within the Enlargement Directorate-General, headed by Therese Sobieski.
