Privatisation bids for Pancevo fertiliser plant opened

Belgrade, 13 February 2006

The Serbian Privatisation Agency stated today that on February 9, the tender commission for the privatisation of HIP Azotara fertiliser company from Pancevo that is currently under restructuring, continued its first session that began on January 25. On February 9, all bids for the purchase of Azotara were opened.

The tender documentation was purchased by the following prospective buyers: “AMI AGROLINZ MELAMINE INTERNATIONAL” GmbH. Austria, "UNIVERZAL - HOLDING" A.D. Belgrade, "AGROFERT HOLDING" A.S. Prague, the Czech Republic, "FIRST HUNGARIAN NATURAL GAS AND ENERGY TRADING AND SERVICE PROVIDER" LTD. - "EMFESZ", Hungary, "SYNERGY CAPITAL" d.o.o. Belgrade, "NITROGENMUVEK" Rt. Hungary, "Farmakom MB" d.o.o. Sabac, "CENTREX ENERGY & GAS" A.G. Switzerland, "CHAMBAL FERTILISERS & CHEMICALS" Ltd. India.

The Commission concluded that five offers were submitted on time: "AGROFERT HOLDING" A.S. Prague, the Czech Republic, “FIRST HUNGARIAN NATURAL GAS AND ENERGY TRADING AND SERVICE PROVIDER” LTD. - “EMFESZ”, Hungary, “NITROGENMUVEK” Rt. Hungary, the Consortium of Legal Entities “FARMAKOM MB” d.o.o. Sabac - “SOJAPROTEIN” a.d. Becej, and finally the Consortium “UNIVERZAL-HOLDING” A.D. Belgrade - UAB "ARVI" Lithuania and Joint Lithuanian - USA Venture "SANITEX" Lithuania.

Following an analysis and on the basis of an expert opinion of the Agency's advisor, the Commission concluded that the bidder “FIRST HUNGARIAN NATURAL GAS AND ENERGY TRADING AND SERVICE PROVIDER” LTD. – “EMFESZ” from Hungary does not meet the criteria and conditions required by the tender and therefore its bid will not be considered. Financial and legal advisors of the Agency will, within 30 days from the opening of bids, make an assessment of offers submitted by "AGROFERT HOLDING" A.S. Prague, the Czech Republic, “NITROGENMUVEK” Rt. Hungary, the Consortium of Legal Entities “FARMAKOM MB” d.o.o. Sabac - “SOJAPROTEIN” a.d. Becej, and the Consortium “UNIVERZAL-HOLDING” A.D. Belgrade - UAB "ARVI" Lithuania and Joint Lithuanian - USA Venture "SANITEX" Lithuania.

The final assessment will be presented at the following session of the tender commission for HIP Azotara fertiliser company from Pancevo.
