After a meeting with Chief Negotiator of Pristina Besnik Bislimi and EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues Miroslav Lajcak, Petkovic pointed out that the main topic of the meeting was the continuation of the process of implementation and formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities, because that is the first obligation agreed in Ohrid.
The Director of the Office emphasised that the text of the declaration on missing persons, which will be adopted at the high-level meeting, has been determined, whereby we took special care of all terms and did not accept the term mentioned in the Convention on Enforced Disappearances in order not to jeopardise the interests of Serbia.
The meeting also dealt with energy, and in that context the talks with KEDS for the sake of distribution services will continue, Petkovic stated and added that the issue of license plates was also discussed, where he pointed out all the violations of Pristina on that issue and of the agreements from 2021 and 2022.
He said that the talks were long and difficult, but that the Serbian side showed constructiveness and that it respects everything it committed to, with clearly stated red lines.
It is important to talk because it is a way to preserve peace and the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as for the normalisation of relations because that way we can preserve stability in the Western Balkans, emphasised Petkovic, who is also the chief of Belgrade's negotiating team.
