In a statement to reporters after the meeting, Petković stated that the talks were difficult, and that he insisted on the normalisation of relations, which must begin with de-escalation and the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities.
He pointed out that during the meeting he also spoke about Albin Kurti's terror against Serbs, especially in the north, arrests, as well as other issues such as disappearances.
The Director of the Office stated that on that occasion the Belgrade delegation presented a plan for de-escalation, emphasising that the issue of human rights has to be a priority.
He reported that on that occasion he confirmed his participation in a meeting of the Working Group on the Issues of the Missing on 26 June in Geneva, adding that the topics of today's talks were also MTS and energy, and that a request was made for the liaison officer to be allowed to visit Serbs in prisons in Priština.
According to him, an agreement was reached that the chief negotiators continue the talks at the technical level in early July, and that in the meantime, associates of EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Priština Dialogue Peter Sørensen visit Belgrade and Priština.
