Brnabic pointed out that the state invests large amounts of money in healthcare, but that transparency should be increased, so that the results of those investments could be seen and citizens feel the benefit of it.
The Prime Minister added that work should be done on increasing the visibility of information for healthcare workers, as well as data security, in order for Serbia to have well-organised healthcare that will be in line with the needs of all healthcare institutions, healthcare professionals and primarily patients.
She also pointed out that by establishing a single information system in healthcare it will be possible to consolidate all the data that will allow real, accurate and complete information to be in a single database - about the treatment of each patient, rare diseases, the number of healthcare workers, residencies, equipment, medicines, waiting lists and more.
Digitisation in healthcare will save time and facilitate and accelerate the treatment of more patients.
It is also planned to work on the education of both doctors and citizens about the possibilities of electronic services that will be available to them.
Minister of Health Danica Grujicic emphasised that there are many good things that have been done so far, but that they need to be improved, as well as the systems that already exist.
The session was also attended by Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Jelena Begovic and representatives of health system institutions.
