Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, discussed today with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, as part of ongoing regular consultations with members of the government, the state of public finances, current economic trends and the government’s priority activities aimed at preserving macroeconomic stability and protecting citizens’ living standards.

The interlocutors emphasised that an additional reduction in excise duties on fuel by a total of 20% is one of the measures aimed at preserving the stability of supply and protecting the domestic market from the negative consequences of disruptions to international flows.
Particular attention was devoted to the latest report by the ratings agency Fitch on the credit rating of the Republic of Serbia, which confirms the confidence of international financial institutions in Serbia’s responsible economic policy and represents further confirmation of the stability of public finances.
The First Deputy Prime Minister informed the Prime Minister about the progress of work and preparations for Specialised Expo 2027, in which 140 countries and international organisations have confirmed their participation so far.
Macut insisted on accelerating the completion of all necessary legal procedures in order to enable the implementation of the assistance programme for the most vulnerable groups as soon as possible.
The Prime Minister instructed the First Deputy Prime Minister to take all available measures, in coordination with all relevant institutions, to preserve price stability, emphasising that protecting citizens’ living standards is one of government’s highest priorities.
